Hi! I'm Gursimrat!

Styling My Site!

Colour Choices

I decided to use monochromatic color scheme because it makes my website feel connected and calm. Since my photo has warm sunlight and gold jewelry, I chose different shades of yellow to match the image without making the page look too busy. For my main background color, I picked a darker yellow (#f8efa0) because it creates a nice frame for the content and is easy on the eyes. I then used a lighter yellow (#fcf7d0) for the headers to help them stand out. This lighter shade blends perfectly with the gold tones in the photo, keeping the whole design soft, balanced, and professional.

For my main colour, I chose a slightly darker yellow (#f8efa0). I used this colour as the border around the entire website and around the main content section to help frame the page and separate the content from the background. I picked a darker shade instead of a bright yellow because its easier on the eyes and still keeps the warm, inviting feel of the image.

rgb(248, 239, 160) or #f8efa0

I chose a lighter yellow (#fcf7d0) for the headers. The lighter shade helps the headings stand out while still fitting naturally within the monochromatic colour scheme. It also blends well with the warm sunlight and gold jewelry in the photo, which helps keep the overall design looking soft, balanced, and cohesive.

To get the ligher shade of my main color, I used the website colorhexa.com

I am using the following lighter shade of my main color as the background for my headers.

rgb(252, 247, 208) or #fcf7d0

The only other colour used on my site is black. And all text is black

Font Choices

I chose to use Noto Sans for my website because it is a clean and simple font that is very easy to read on a screen. Since it does not have extra decorative bits on the letters, it looks modern and does not distract people from the content or my photo. This font feels friendly and open, which matches the warm and inviting vibe of my yellow color scheme. It also stays very clear against my light background, making sure my website looks professional on any device.

The font is embeded from the Google Fonts Site.
